About PlantingTree
PlantingTree is a company that was formed by Tony D’Alessandro and Peter Casatelli.  As kids, they both worked in the nursery owned by Tony’s family. From day one at the family nursery, Tony and Peter learned that there was only one way to grow something: the right way. Tony’s dad, who ran the nursery, was passionate, meticulous, and disciplined regarding all things that grow out of the ground. If something wasn’t planted at just the right height, it had to be planted again. If the rows in the nursery weren’t even and aligned, well, then they soon would be. This daily education about quality growing would inform Peter and Tony throughout their horticultural careers and still does today. After running a successful landscaping company, first in Florida and then in North Carolina, Tony and Peter noticed how interested their clients were in what was being planted and how many of them wanted to be involved in picking out their own trees, shrubs, and plants. Their clients wanted to get their hands dirty; only they didn’t know-how. That’s when the lightbulb went on for Peter and Tony and when PlantingTree was born.
