I paid $539 for a chess set on August 8, 2021. I have still not received the package 21 days later. It has been sitting in a Fed Ex facility since August 11th. It has been sitting not moving for 14 days. Apparently there was a problem with the label, which the Chess Store claims they fixed. However, no package a week after the correction. It still had no pending date. So the Chess Store after numerous (9) contacts, asking for assistance, redirected the package back to them. However, they will not credit my money until they receive the package. How is this my fault? I paid they $539 - and have nothing, and will not get a refund for the foreseeable future. They are getting the set back but, I get nothing. If they selected Fed Ex and Fed Ex cannot deliver the package, it is their problem. I still paid my money for it and want it back. I asked the customer service rep to check on it numerous times before he did. Then he said it was due to covid, which it was not. It was due to a label mistake on their end. Now we have to wait for an unlabeled package to be returned to them before I get my money. What kind of company is this? Check around there are other complaints about their customer service online, go elsewhere. Do they scam the high dollar purchases? Seems so.
