A spindle assembly for a troy built mower
I'm dumbfounded. This is hands down the best customer service I've dealt. I've been looking for a pulley that goes along with the spindle assembly. I've used the part number given in my manual, I have ordered 2 from Amazon and the 2nd from MTD. unfortunately both were the wrong sizes. When I contacted MTD for help they refunded my original purchase and told me to keep it... I told then I'd be happy to send it back I have no use for it, they suggested I donate it to a small shop. They next discounted the new part and gave me free overnight delivery. I'm very happy and appreciative for their customer service.

Battery & charger for Cub Cadet lawn trimmer
Like they say if you give good service 1 in 10 will tell somebody.
If you give bad service 7 in 10 will tell somebody.
The low rating is distorted.
I found a battery and charger with MTD at as low a price listed.
They were the ONLY company that had it in stock.
Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, TSC etc.
NOBODY ELSE HAD THESE IN STOCK.
I should have bought everything here.
I ordered online on a Sunday.
Received the battery on Wednesday and the charger on Thursday.
I WILL BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!!starter

Mower deck
They are the worst at customer service. Can't get a straight answer from anyone. I'm in desperate need of the mower deck. Mower is sitting, grass uncut waiting on a item that is backordered. How can you let a item run out of stock? That's what backordered means.
Craftsman Lawn Tractor Bagger System
I purchased this part off the website almost three weeks ago. I've received no updates at all. I called Friday but it was after hours. The phone number on the website is incorrect, so that held me up a little bit. I called again today and waited on hold for over thirty minutes. The person that answered was pleasant enough, but told me the part was not in stock (it was when I ordered it according to the website) and that it could take thirty days or more for it to be in stock. I asked if we could cancel the order and issue a refund. I was told that they could request a refund, but couldn't cancel it. I wouldn't receive any confirmation until it was canceled by "higher up", and that I could call back in a week or two to verify that it had been canceled (and wait for another half hour or more on the phone?). The money could take thirty days or more to be refunded.
I've had bad customer service, but this is just horrible. I cannot recommend strongly enough that you avoid this company. Go to the store. THIS WILL NOT BE MORE CONVENIENT.safety chute, throttle cable, belt guards, guide wheels.
We order parts because we need them. This place has the absolute slowest shipping. Still waiting on parts after 4 weeks. Never again.

shoulder spacer for walking mower
Purchased a shoulder spacer for my walking mower. Ordered early on 9/2 hoping it would be shipped prior to the Labor Day holiday. No notations on their website stating they were closed Friday through Monday for the holiday. The item was in stock & stated they would Email a shipping confirmation.
Waited until 9/6 to "chat" since no Email confirmation received. They apologized stating that the order was packed and ready to picked up by UPS that day (this was later afternoon).
With no Email confirmation of shipment, I chatted again on 9/9. After a 30 minute chat, I was informed that they would be certain to get the item shipped out today. I asked them to expedite the shipping process at their cost since I've waited already but they stated they could not change the shipment option.
Within 30 minutes of my second chat, I received my confirmation Email that the item will ship today, 9/9.
I have been unable to cut my lawn without this part (mower works but with Zoysia grass it's impossible to cut through without the proper use of the mower).
Such aggravation from MTDparts. They apologized on the first chat for the delay but did nothing to get the item shipped which means the apology was meaningless.
Way too much time wasted. Would not recommend them & will not order from them in the future.Operator Bail
I ordered a replacement operator bail online, item indicated in stock andI figured easy, peasy, just order and wait. 5 days go by order no processed, just sitting and chilling, I call to ask what's going on with my order and see if i can expedite shipping since it been sitting. Need the part to mow my lawn. Rep tells me that they are actually out of stock on the item and apologies it would ship when i can. I asked to have the order cancelled, My lawn's not gonna stop growing because MTD asked it to. The rep hung up on me. just ended the call without reason. ten mins later - my card is charged for the purchased. I called back but the customers service center was closed.
next am wake up to a shipping notification. MTD Shipped the cancelled order. WHY???
I called a third time to customer service - end up with the same employee that hung up on me the day before. refuses to help fix the situation. refusing to stop shipment, refusing a refund, refusing and return shipping tag. He actually asked me to pay return shipping on the cancelled item when i receive it. Asked for a manager or supervisor, and rep refused to transfer the call as well. gave me some B.S. response that there is no on site management. He offered to take my name and number and forward it to them and i'd get a call back in 48 hours. Unacceptable. - the order was cancelled. if this is true, another reason NOT to do business here.
terrible customer service beyond all belief. I would not recommend this company to anyone. After rude customer service and being hung up on, rather than waiting for the part, I chose to go buy new mower from a completely different company.

Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service, DO NOT PATRONIZE this site.
Placed an order on 5/13/21 for a part that was in stock. One email stating the order was received was sent within minutes of finalizing the purchase, and then NOTHING until I called yesterday about the order. CSR stated that the product was indeed in stock and he was not sure why it hadn't shipped yet. Since a decent amount of time had passed and I had not received the part, it was necessary that I pursued other options and no longer needed the item.
I requested a refund, to which the response was, "I will have to email my supervisor to get his ok to process the return." Fairly standard practice, not an issue. Then once the CSR returned to the call it was stated that the order could not be canceled. (At this point NO payment had been processed and no product was ready for shipment.) For 3 weeks my order was too unimportant to be billed, boxed, and shipped; BUT call on a Friday, 2 hours before they close and my order was now SO important that it couldn't be canceled and made it on a UPS truck before close of business.
The CSR also stated at the end of that if I truly no longer needed the item I could send it back to them once I received it. Which is complete garbage and only serves to waste my time and money, wouldn't be surprised if there is a "restocking fee" in addition to the unnecessary cost of me shipping it back.
