    Lively Mobile Senior Alert system

    I had this thing for a year and let me tell you, it was a total pain. First, the charger broke and it took forever to get a new one. Then the pendant stopped working, and I had to wait AGAIN for a replacement. So frustrating! When I finally said enough is enough and tried to cancel my service, they kept charging me for no reason. And trying to talk to their customer service? Ugh, no thank you.

    Man, this company is driving me crazy! I've been trying forever to transfer my dad's old phone number to his new phone, but they just can't seem to get it right. Every time I call, I get a different story and nothing ever changes. It's so annoying!

    Cell phone for elderly grandmother

    I just bought my grandma, who's almost 80, a cellphone from your company for emergencies only, since she hardly ever leaves her house. But her bill keeps going up even though she's always on WiFi and only using it for simple things like calls. Last month it hit $480, which is way too much. I've tried talking to customer service a bunch of times, but haven't gotten anywhere. It really stinks to see the company treating elderly customers like my grandma so poorly.

    Jitterbug Flip2 purchase

    I bought a Jitterbug Flip2 because I heard good things about it from AARP magazine and the Lively website saying it could do voice texting. But when I tried it out, I realized that even though you can send texts by talking, you can't have your incoming messages read out loud. When I called customer support for help, they told me to enable speech in the accessibility settings. However, this only seemed to work for the menus and sub-menus, not for reading texts.

    Senior-friendly phone plan

    As a customer of this company, I gotta say I was super disappointed by all the hidden fees that came with their services. It's just not right to sneak in extra costs, especially on older folks living on fixed incomes. The fact that they're not upfront about what you'll be charged is sketchy, and it's really sad to see people getting ripped off like that. I highly recommend anyone thinking about using this company to do their homework and ask about any fees before agreeing to anything.

    Basic phone for my grandma

    So, yeah, getting this phone set up for my grandma was a total pain. The company messed up the first time, so we had to wait two whole days for them to fix it. And then it took three freaking weeks just to switch the number over. Seriously, such a hassle. We had to keep calling them to find out what the heck was going on. Plus, the ringer on the phone can be turned off way too easily by accident, which is just not cool at all.

    Lifesaving device purchase

    After doing a lot of research and going through two strokes myself, I finally decided to buy a lifesaving device. I had been looking into different options for more than a year, but it wasn't until my neighbor found me after a stroke and my occupational therapist found me during an appointment that I knew I had to do something. The tipping point was when I saw an ad for the device I ended up picking in a new AARP Bulletin. I should have called earlier, but like they say, it's better late than never.

    Poor service and phone durability

    I had a really bad time dealing with the customer service of this company. My phone kept acting up, so I bought a new one and even got their "Protection Plan". But when I needed another replacement, they randomly canceled my order and took forever to resolve the problem. I had to sit on hold for a long time on several calls, and I definitely don't recommend this company if you want good performance and service.

    This phone is supposed to be senior-friendly and simple to set up, but honestly, it was tricky and deceptive. The instructions in the manual didn't align with the actual setup process on the phone, which made it all confusing and annoying to deal with. Customer support wasn't much help, especially if you're using a Mac computer since they only support Microsoft users. Trying to keep your own phone number, like they promise, was a hassle. All in all, it was a letdown and definitely not user-friendly for seniors.

    Issue with credit card hacking and service suspension

    The customer had their credit card hacked by someone connected to the service provider, which messed up their service big time. They tried canceling, but the company kept sending bills for stuff they didn't even get. Then, to make matters worse, they got sent to collections for not paying up. The customer even sent a check to cancel the service for October 2023, but the company still tried to charge them for more months. Can you believe that?

    I bought 2 Lively Jitterbug phones for my folks at a store, but the monthly bills ended up being too pricey, so I switched to another service provider. Eventually, one of the phones had a little problem and I reached out to the manufacturer for help.

    It's just crazy that my husband isn't getting back some of the money for the month he canceled the service and won't be using. I mean, what kind of company hangs onto your cash even when you're not using what you paid for? It just seems unfair, especially for seniors on a budget trying to save a little money.

    Lively phone issues

    I got my mom a Lively phone to make things easier for her, but it hasn't been smooth sailing. The locator service stopped working on the 26th of December, and then the actual phone service crapped out on the 3rd of January. GreatCall is blaming it on some software update that messed with other flip phones, but come on - my mom shouldn't be without a working phone for almost two weeks! They told us to use a different phone for emergencies, but that's not always an option. It's the 7th of January now and the problem still isn't fixed. If GreatCall really cared about us seniors, they would have had this sorted out right away. It's not cool to let us down like this.

    I gifted my grandfather this jitterbug smart 2 . He loved this and also find it really simple to use. The menu is list based which make easy to search and find . With 5'5 screen , my grandpa can easily see it without any hassle. It also comes with voice typing, front face speaker video chat etc like features. This is awesome .
    Well also the 5 star urgent response button is something i really appreciate. It makes me less worried to know that my grandpa can contact me easily in case of urgent matters. the battery last long , which is really good for him. The set up is easy and navigation is simple so yeah i find it really compatible with seniors .
