Membership renewal issues
I went to renew my membership at Sam's Club, like I do every year without any problems. But this time, things went south and it's made me think twice about renewing again. When I called the customer service number, I was connected to someone in the Philippines. I get that companies have call centers all over the world, but I had a hard time understanding the person because of the language differences.
Plus membership trouble
Hey, so I've been a Plus member for a really long time now. During Covid, it was super helpful because they would ship stuff to me, which was great. But now, when I try to order online, I have to go to the store because nothing ships or they charge extra, and that's not cool, you know? Plus members are supposed to get free shipping, so what's up with that? So, I decided to go to the store to downgrade my membership, and the lady there had no clue how to do it! She was like, "I've never had anyone ask that before." It was like, seriously? Eventually, she got some help and figured it out. So, bye-bye Plus membership!
Gas grill purchase
I ordered a gas grill from this place, and let me tell you, I was super disappointed. The delivery was late, and on top of that, the package didn't even have all the nuts and bolts needed to put it together. I called customer service, and they said they would fix it fast. But here I am, still waiting six days later. I missed some special events waiting for those missing parts. I gotta say, I am not happy with the service at all.
Hearing aids
I had such a wonderful time at that store, especially working with Jennifer in the hearing department. She was so helpful and really went out of her way to find me the best deals on hearing aids. Plus, she knew so much and was really honest. I definitely think you should go see her if you need anything related to hearing.
Gas purchase
Hey y'all, I just wanted to give you a heads up about something that happened to me at the gas station over at Sam's Club in Thornton, Colorado. The sign said gas was $2.88, but when I went to pay, they charged me $3.02 a gallon. That's just plain wrong and definitely not cool. So, watch out for this sneaky pricing trick if you plan on getting gas there.
Personal information security breach
My personal info got leaked because of a security breach at the company. Customers kept calling me for help with their orders since my phone number was accidentally listed as the call back number. I was really surprised and upset to find out that my details were being shared without my permission.
Spices and condiments
Shopping at Sam's Club was really disappointing for me, especially when I compared it to other wholesale stores like Costco. The return policy wasn't as flexible as I wanted it to be, and the quality of the stuff I bought wasn't up to par. The customer service was also kind of disappointing. I tried to return some spicy condiments that didn't work out for the people I bought them for, but instead of getting help, I was accused of something and they wouldn't take the return. If I had gone to Costco, I know they would have made sure I left happy.
Expired Membership Auto Renewal
Be careful with expired memberships when using self-checkout because they might automatically renew without you knowing. They will charge your account without telling you, and customer service is not helpful at all. I'm going to take my business somewhere else.
Dog poop
I had such a gross time yesterday at the store. There was dog poop all over the place on my way to the self-checkout, and it totally ruined my shopping trip. It was so unpleasant. They really need to do a better job keeping an eye on animals in the store for hygiene reasons.
Received wrong pack
I bought this pack from the store thinking it was what I wanted, but turns out I got the wrong one! I wanted to exchange it, get my money back, or at least get a new one, but they said no because I'm not a member. How unfair is that? Why should they treat guests differently? Feels like some kind of scam loophole, I tell you. Just have a look at their "terms and conditions"!
Self-checkout system
The self-checkout system in this store is a total mess. My husband and I had such a hard time using it - it was frustrating and took forever. We ended up spending more time trying to figure it out than we did actually scanning and paying for our stuff. Even the staff couldn't seem to make it work right. It's crazy to me that they couldn't even get it right, so how are customers supposed to? I love technology, but this system seriously needs some work. I'll take a regular cashier any day over this glitchy mess.
Groceries and household items
I went to Sam's Club as a customer and honestly, I was pretty let down by the service. When I was checking out, I realized I was missing a bunch of things from my purchase, and I had to go back and track them down myself. The staff didn't really seem to care when I told them about it. The employees were less than helpful, barely knowing where stuff was or how to help out. It was like they never got trained properly, making mistakes left and right and leaving customers unhappy. Prices were messed up too, making checkout a nightmare. It seemed like they were trying to keep up with other big stores, but they were failing because they didn't pay attention to the little things or keep their employees happy.
Unapplied coupon purchase
Hey, so I received this really great coupon in my email, but I couldn't get it to scan at self-checkout. One of the workers suggested I go to customer service, so I headed over there. Big shoutout to Yoshika Warthen at the Bobby Jones Expressway store in Augusta, GA (Store #8115)! She's been there forever and she helped me out super fast. Seriously, she's amazing. Total customer service goals, no joke. Thank you again, Ms. Warthen!
Various beverages for the holidays
I just bought some drinks for the holidays from Sam's Club, but when they got delivered, the orange juice, strawberry lemonade, and lemonade were missing. I reached out to customer service to fix the problem, but all they offered was a refund instead of sending the missing items again. I was really let down by this because I needed those drinks for a special event. Now I'm not sure if I want to use their delivery service again. And I'm also wondering how I can get back the tip I already gave to the delivery person.
Big store, bad online order
I hopped on the internet to order some stuff from that big store that starts with an "S." Everything was going smooth at first - I got the email confirming my order and all that jazz. But then WHAM! They up and canceled my order with no warning. No explanation, no nothing. And to top it off, they still charged me for something I never even got! I tried shooting them an email, but it was like talking to a brick wall. I had to call my parents, and they ended up calling our credit card company to fix the whole mess. Total nightmare!
Credit card statement fee
Are you kidding me? I've been with them for over twenty years, and now they want to charge me nearly two dollars to get a monthly credit card statement? That's just plain greedy! I'm fed up with all their money-hungry moves, so I'm definitely not renewing my membership.
Shopping experience at Sam's Club
I went to Sam's Club with my mom to get some snacks for movie night, and as we were leaving, this lady just pushed her cart into my mom's car! It left a big dent and scratch, and we were really upset. The manager was really nice though and came out to check the damage. He said they would review the video footage to see what happened. A few days later, they called and said they would cover all the costs for the damages! They could have easily said they didn't see anything on the video, but they were honest and helped us out. I want to say a big thank you to Sam's Club for fixing our car and being so understanding about the whole thing.
Membership renewal, credit card issues
I've really been enjoying my time at Sam's Club in Wesley Chapel, but man, their credit card services have been a nightmare. When I renewed my membership, I noticed that my cashback rewards weren't showing up in my account. I had to reach out to member services and Synchrony a total of 8 times, and it wasn't until I demanded to speak with a supervisor that things finally started to get sorted out. They just kept pointing fingers at each other, and it took a supervisor stepping in to fix the problem. But my troubles didn't stop there. Recently, I had an issue when I used the credit card to book an international flight. Even after confirming the transaction, my account got locked out of the blue, with no warning. This was a big inconvenience for me since I use the credit card for all my autopayments. Despite talking to multiple reps, including supervisors, they couldn't give me any immediate solutions or speed up the process to fix the issue. It's frustrating to see such a lack of flexibility and support from Synchrony, a company this big.
Bulk items purchase
If you enjoy getting tons of spam emails, then this is the spot for you. I signed up again and right away got flooded with emails. When I tried to opt out, they said it would take 10 days. Seriously? And don't even get me going on the folks running the show – total greed. Yeah, maybe Sam's Club is a bit better than its main company, but it's all related in the end. The Walton family always wants more money, even though they're already raking in millions every hour. It's sickening.
