I was checking the app for the hundredth time, and suddenly I got a test alert and a live feed—working, actually working. That little beep gave me real relief; for a second it felt like the system was doing what it was supposed to. It didn’t wipe out all the frustration (billing, wrong parts sent, hours on the phone), but that surprise moment counted for something. I told a friend what happened — more as a caution than a recommendation — and warned them to read the fine print. Long story short: it can work, but be prepared to push for it and expect headaches.
Door alignment lesson, paid the hard way
they looked fine. Small, lightweight, tidy. Then I put one on the door and the other on the frame. They missed each other by a bit. Not huge, but enough. The system needs the magnets to line up pretty well. That’s when the problem was obvious.
I called support. Their first idea was to use pads or foam to shift the alignment — basically stick things to make the sensors meet. Not exactly a robust fix for a security system, and I told them so. I said I didn’t want to MacGyver my house with adhesive tabs. Their next suggestion was to replace the pieces with ones that require drilling the door and frame. I made it clear I did not consent to drilling into my doors, and I certainly didn’t order a product that implicitly required that.
At that point I had already been billed for months. I asked to cancel. They refused. They offered a discount toward buying the hardware outright, like that was the answer. So I kept paying for something I never actually used. It felt like they were clinging to the contract terms instead of trying to find a reasonable solution.
Service replies later restated the same two options: add padding or drill. They didn’t address the core problem, which was that the product wasn’t appropriate for doors that aren’t perfectly aligned. They also didn’t fix the billing. I ended up paying through July 2020 for a system that didn’t work in my home.
I’m not dramatic about corporations, but this left a sour taste. The setup expectations were not clearly explained at sale, and the customer service approach felt inflexible. If your doors are older or slightly out of alignment, be wary. I wanted a simple cancellation when the solution clearly wasn’t working in my situation. Instead I got contract rigidity and a lot of frustration.Worth the hassle in the end
it ended up getting fixed and I’m relieved — not perfect, but I’m glad I didn’t give up. Okay, so here’s the story in plain talk. I called on April 6 to make a one-time payment to bring my account current, and during that call Debbie (she sounded sure) told me she would only process the debit after emailing me a document confirming my account wouldn’t be put on auto-draft. I insisted — repeatedly — that I did not want anything on auto-pay, I’d made a one-time payment the month before and that was that. Debbie said she removed my linked bank account while we were on the line and that I’d get the email that evening before 2 p.m. I agreed to pay the $69.98 only with that promise in place. Simple, right? Not really.
Instead of getting the agreement email first, I opened the email later and saw the payment had already been processed and that the attached letter implied I’d somehow signed up for auto-draft. That wasn’t true — I kept saying I hadn’t. So I called back the same evening and spoke with Shai, asked her to cancel the pending charge and to delete my card info. I also told them I wanted the contract severed — I didn’t want to keep dealing with them if this was how they handled stuff. Shai told me I’d owe fees for the remaining months if I canceled, which surprised me, and that’s when I started to feel boxed in.
Fast forward to May — I noticed attempts to charge my card and even my bank account for the next month despite asking them to stop. I called multiple times on May 2, spoke with Valerie and then a supervisor, Chris. There were a lot of explanations, a lot of recorded-line back-and-forth, and honestly it was wearing. I’m not great with legal talk but Chris said the contract couldn’t be canceled because it was signed by both parties — which, sure, is technically a thing, but I had asked to be released and I needed them to honor the April agreement about deleting the account and not auto-charging me.
Here’s the part that turned me from furious to mostly satisfied: after insisting on written confirmations and recordings (I asked for copies of the April 6 and May 2 calls and for all communication to be by email only), things started to clear up. I got the promised emails, the company checked their records and ultimately reversed the unauthorized charge from my debit card. They also confirmed who put the card on auto-pay and how the bank account was handled — it wasn’t perfect wording at first, but with persistence I got the clarification I needed in writing. That helped a lot because my credit unions and other merchants had been dinged with declined ACHs and NSF annoyances — it created a domino effect, you know?
So yeah, the whole experience was stressful and I wish the first people I talked to had done exactly what they said they would. That said, I am grateful I pushed for documentation and recordings; once those were involved, the reps (especially the later folks) stopped hand-waving and actually fixed things — refund processed, card removed from their system, clear emails on what happened. If you deal with them, two friendly pieces of advice: insist on an email confirmation before any charge is run, and request copies of call recordings right away if there’s any disagreement. Keeps everyone honest and saved me a ton of back-and-forth.
I’m not thrilled I had to fight for it, but I’m happy it ended with a refund and some clear paper trail. So if you’re cautious, persistent, and keep everything in writing, this company can be workable — maybe even decent — just don’t skip the follow-ups. I’m thankful it ultimately got sorted and I’d say it’s worth the chance if you’re ready to be a bit proactive about it.Door lock replacement, camera connectivity issue
My experience with the product has been pretty frustrating since the beginning. The first door lock was messed up and needed replacing, which was a pain and caused some annoying delays. Lately, I've been having trouble connecting my camera after getting a new router for my internet. I called for help a bunch of times, but they told me I needed to use an Ethernet cord for the connection. Getting this cord was a whole ordeal, like I had to jump through hoops to find it. It was really disappointing to see how unprepared and unorganized they were in fixing this problem. And waiting so long for a replacement cord just made dealing with customer service even more aggravating.
Alarm system purchase
Hey, so I got this alarm system over the phone and man, it was a complete disaster! They didn't mention that it relied on my Internet, and boom, I ended up stuck in a three-year contract! I was under the impression it was month-to-month, but nope. I never even got the chance to use the equipment and they were still charging me. What a total rip-off! I returned the equipment but they're still hounding me to pay for services I never received. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this company - it's a total scam!
Quick and simple purchase process
I just wanted to share that I had a really good experience with the company I bought from recently. Buying was easy and fast, no hiccups or hold-ups. The website was user-friendly, I found all the info I needed in no time. The customer service team was great, they answered all my questions quickly. I'm happy with what I bought and would suggest this company to anyone.
Home security system
I've had a super frustrating time with my home security system. The panels and z-wave devices keep giving me problems, causing all sorts of crashes and malfunctions. When I tried to get a newer panel, they wouldn't let me unless I restarted my contract and paid a whole new fee. It's frustrating that they're not flexible, and it's making me question how reliable this product really is.
Unauthorized payment processing
The customer service at this company is just awful. I called to make a one-time payment, and right from the start, it was nothing but lies and deceit. The rep I talked to, Debbie Elliot, told me the payment wouldn't go through until certain conditions were met, but despite me asking multiple times and our agreements on recorded calls, they went ahead and processed it illegally. When I tried to cancel my account, they hit me with more fees and excuses. The boss, Chris, even said I couldn't cancel my contract, which is totally not true and goes against my rights. This whole mess has cost me way too much money and stress, so I'm taking legal action against them for their shady tricks.
Home security system purchase
My experience with the home security system from this company was a total letdown. The sales rep talked me into buying it, but it turned out the system just wasn't compatible with my older house - the doors were all wonky and didn't fit right. I tried reaching out to the company for help, but all they could offer were quick fixes that didn't really solve the problem. After months of getting nowhere and still being charged for a service that wasn't working for me, I'm pretty disappointed with how inflexible and unsympathetic they've been.
Security system
I'm so frustrated! I ordered a security system over the weekend and it's Thursday already, but I still haven't gotten my account set up or equipment mailed to me. They really dropped the ball on this one. I hope their monitoring and dispatching service is better than their order fulfillment.
Home security system
This company is a total nightmare to deal with, I swear. I'm on the phone with them every single month trying to fix the never-ending problems with my home security system. They keep finding new issues with the sensors and the brain of the system, so I've had to replace equipment multiple times and pay for it myself. Even with all these replacements, they still can't seem to get my system running right. It's so frustrating dealing with all this faulty stuff and their customer service that can't seem to get it together. I don't mind shelling out for a good product, but I expect it to actually do what it's supposed to do. Overall, I'm beyond disgusted.
Numerous issues with product knowledge, incorrect shipments, and ineffective installation.
I've had a lot of frustrating experiences with this service. The sales reps don't seem to know much about what they're selling, I keep getting the wrong stuff shipped to me, and even the technicians they send out to set things up are clueless. I've tried to bring up these issues and they always say they'll fix it, but nothing changes. The dispatch team is nice, but they don't have a good system for checking who they're sending help to, so I've had to cancel false alarms. Dealing with broken equipment, bad installations, and struggling to actually use the service has been a constant headache.
Faulty Security System
The security system I bought was a total disaster. The alarm just kept going off for no reason, which was so frustrating. And then, when they sent me a replacement, the brain was missing! Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. Their customer service was no help at all and just left me feeling even more frustrated.
Faulty alarm sensor
I bought an alarm system from this company not too long ago, but I've been having some trouble with one of the sensors. It's super annoying because I signed a three-year contract, so now I'm stuck with a sensor that's acting up. Basically, if I try to arm the alarm from inside the house instead of using the app from outside, it goes off. I've called customer service and even had them replace the sensor, but no luck - it still doesn't work right. It's frustrating that I can't count on this sensor to keep my home safe and that I can't figure out how to fix it myself. Maybe I'll have to give in and have the alarm company send someone out to take a look.
Existing sensors takeover switch
I bought this switch thing to connect our old door/window sensors, but man, installing it has been a real pain. The tech support folks have been trying to assist, but without any background in circuit boards, it's tough. I really wish the salesperson had been straight up about how hard it would be to set this thing up. Now, trying to find someone who can work on stuff from a different company is a headache.
Rude customer service
I called to ask about a quote for a security system, but as soon as they ran my credit and saw it wasn't great, the salesman's whole attitude shifted. Mitch hurried to end the call, even though I was willing to pay upfront for a 3-year plan. Oh well, their loss. I ended up going with another company that treated me well and didn't judge me just because of my credit score.
Research before buying
Before I forked over my hard-earned cash, I double-checked to make sure all my security stuff would play nice together. But once I got that shiny new system, it was a total bust. They promised me it would be a breeze to set up, but man, were they wrong. Two years later and I'm still dealing with issues. I blew over a grand on this mess and I'm beyond annoyed. Moral of the story: do your homework before you drop some serious cash!
Security system
I'm really bummed about how this security system company treated me when I wanted to cancel my service. I've been with them for years, and when I finally decided to end things, they hit me with this crazy cancellation fee. I had to pay for an extra month even though I was already done! Plus, they cut off my service right away, no warning. When I called to talk about it, they didn't care at all. They wouldn't turn my service back on or give me anything for the money I already gave them. It's like they don't care about keeping customers happy. I definitely won't be recommending them to anyone.
Deceptive Contract Terms
I'm really upset with how this company dealt with my situation. I told them about my daughter's health getting worse and how she can't get to the alarm fast enough, but they still kept charging me. It's awful that they care more about making money than taking care of their customers. I should have checked the contract more closely, but I never thought they would treat me so coldly.
Disappointing experience
I'm really unhappy with the service I've been getting from this company. Ever since I switched from my old security provider, I've run into a bunch of problems that have just made me mad and let down. The customer service reps seem like they don't know what they're doing and care more about the company's money than actually helping us customers. If it wasn't such a pain and expensive to switch to a different security company, I would've already canceled with them.
