The first guy on the phone was helpful, but when I rang back five minutes later to add insurance they said it couldn't be done. I was annoyed about the cancellation charge too, thought it'd be small but the contract showed a full night. Still, the crew turned up on time and helped as promised, so I was relieved and grateful it worked out.

    Right in the middle of a work trip I called the hotel, after the first agent was very helpful I rang back five minutes later to add trip insurance and was told it couldn’t be done. I’d assumed cancellation meant a small fee, but the emailed contract said the whole night would be charged. Annoying at first, but customer support ended up explaining and fixing some things, and check-in was smooth. I use places like this on short business stays.

    Almost lost it, then relief

    I booked at Beau Rivage, nervous because past companies charged me without warning. They did change my reservation and put a deposit on my card, which sent me into email-sleuth mode. After a couple calls and a refund showing up, I finally relaxed. Not perfect, but when they fixed it and said sorry, I felt relieved and oddly amused.

    Finally fixed, phew

    they fixed it — and I’m actually relieved. I needed help because my card was charged and a reservation got switched without me knowing (big headache at Beau Rivage). After some back-and-forth the team sorted the deposit, corrected the booking and emailed confirmations. It wasn’t perfect, there were hiccups, but overall they owned it and made things right. Glad I pushed for it.
