I lost my mom, lost my job, and was moving around so much I misplaced one of the middle trays (phase 8). Grief and instability make you drop things, literally and figuratively, and that’s why I needed a single replacement, not a whole redo. The aligners themselves had done their job up to that point; my teeth were where they were supposed to be and the company had told me early on that if things shifted back a little I could revert a phase or two. So I expected a simple fix. Instead I got a mess of mixed messages and a bunch of runaround. I called customer service in early 2024 and was told my case was “too old” and they wanted me to start over. Then someone told me the company changed its name to CandidPro. Then a different rep basically acted like they’d never heard of me. I went to my dentist who checked my phase 7 and 9 trays to try and recreate phase 8 — they couldn’t. The dentist reached out to the company and was told I needed to contact them directly and start from scratch because my plan was outdated. That made no sense: I was already on phase 4 and my teeth hadn’t moved. It felt like bureaucracy more than care. When I finally got through to someone, the response was sterile and unhelpful: “start over” or “we can’t help.” No offer to send a single replacement, no attempt to verify the fit, no real attempt to make a simple fix. The product itself worked fine when I used it — comfortable and effective — but the service around it failed me when I needed a small one-off solution. I get that companies change policies, but the inconsistency and the flip-flopping on whether they were even operating left me frustrated and skeptical. I’m disappointed because I believed in the system and now I’m stuck either paying for a whole new plan or giving up. Emotionally it’s draining — you don’t expect to be shuffled around when you’re already dealing with other heavy stuff — and that’s what made the experience worse than the missing tray itself.
That moment I finally smiled
a couple trays arrived that pinched and hurt, and support told me to file them down with an emery board — which, yeah, felt weird. I pushed for new impressions and they did send replacements, so that was a relief. Toward the end I kept feeling like something wasn’t quite right and we went back and forth a bunch; at one point the rep got frustrated and said they couldn’t continue because they lost their dentist partner. Not great. Still, I kept using the last set like a retainer for almost a year and, honestly, my teeth stayed in place and I started to notice the change — friends even said my smile looked different in a good way. That’s when I knew I was actually satisfied: not just relieved, but genuinely happy with the result. I do wish communication had been clearer and that ordering replacements was easier — I couldn’t even access the portal later — but all in all I’m glad I stuck with it. If you’ve had rough experiences with other providers, this might be familiar, yet the outcome made me thankful it turned out okay.
Little by little, not overnight
I remember staring at my old school photos and thinking, huh, those teeth shifted a lot. So I ordered the aligners and got started back in late September 2021. I was curious and a bit nervous, but honestly excited to see even small changes. The first kit arrived and felt...okay. Not perfect, but not awful. The trays were smooth and didn’t pinch. I wore them all day like I was supposed to. Short breaks, quick cleaning, back in. Simple routines.
After a few weeks I noticed subtle things. Little gaps closing, one tooth leaning less. That surprised me more than I expected. You don’t always see progress day to day, but when you compare photos month to month, it’s there. That gave me a real boost. The aligners themselves felt light. Sometimes I’d forget I was wearing them while doing errands or work. That comfort factor mattered a lot.
The whole process wasn’t flawless though. The plan was supposed to be ten months, but it stretched into a year. I followed directions closely. Still, the retainers never sat as snug as I wanted at first. They were functional, but I kept wondering if they were the right fit. When Candid said I needed another round, I sighed, but they covered it free of charge, so I was willing to keep going. The second round actually felt tighter. Real progress there. It was a pleasant surprise to feel the change in fit — that little snap when a tray finally matched your teeth. You don’t realize how satisfying that is until it happens.
Fast forward, and after more months and a third round that began in April 2023, I hit some bumps. Kits arrived with the wrong size more than once. So there were delays. Waiting for new trays, redoing impressions, messing with shipping — it ate up time and patience. At times I felt like I was reminding them what to send. Not ideal. Still, every round nudged my teeth in the right direction. They’re straighter than when I started. That matters.
What’s weird is how mixed the feelings are. I’m happy with the price — it was cheaper than other options and that was a real factor for me. I liked the daily feel of the trays and how they didn’t interfere much with eating or small talk. I didn’t love the back-and-forth with support and the waiting. And now with the company changing focus, I’m a little anxious about finishing the final touches. But I’m hopeful. I’m actually looking forward to the day I can pop in the final tray and think, yeah, that’s it.
Would I pick them again? Maybe not for the whole customer service saga, but the product itself—how it feels, how it moved my teeth a bit each month—was solid. Small wins add up, and that surprised me in the best way.Not worth the stress
I wouldn’t go through Candid Pro again — mostly because of the communication nightmare, not just the crooked fit. I needed this treatment to close annoying gaps and because my bite was starting to bother my jaw (had some dull ache for months), so I was actually invested in seeing it through.
Braces
I got braces almost two years ago, but I haven't really seen much progress. It's been difficult doing everything virtually and not being able to see the doctor in person. I paid almost 3000 dollars for this and I feel like it's not really worth it. I just want my teeth to be straight - is that too much to ask for? It's frustrating that nobody checks in on me to see how I'm doing or if there's any progress. I thought braces were supposed to help, but it's been two years and I'm still stuck in the same spot.
Ineffective treatment and unprofessional service
The treatment I received from this company was not effective at all. Even after two rounds of aligners, my teeth didn't move like they were supposed to. On top of that, the company was unprofessional when there was no progress. They renewed my treatment without explaining why, and then suddenly ended it and blamed my orthodontist. Turns out, the orthodontist was provided by the company, so they weren't being accountable or transparent at all. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience and I wouldn't suggest them to anyone looking for orthodontic treatment.
18-month treatment
I had a really bad time with the 18-month treatment I got. The first aligners didn't straighten my teeth right, so they sent me another set based on a new plan. But the second set didn't fix the problem either. I tried reaching out to support many times, asking for the orthodontist to check the plan, but the issue wasn't resolved. The customer service rep, Alison, was rude and not helpful when I asked what to do next. All in all, I was really let down by the whole thing.
Aligner purchase
I've been using aligners for more than 2 and a half years now, and I've gone through four sets. Unfortunately, my teeth are in worse shape now than they were when I started. The latest advice I got was to trim part of my aligners and keep wearing them, hoping my bite would improve. But my top and bottom front teeth are still not aligned properly, and the teeth that were causing problems are still being held in place by the aligners. It's hard to see how this is supposed to make my dental situation better. I feel like the $2000 I spent on this treatment was a waste.
$2100+ for Aligners
I can't believe how terrible the communication and customer service is with this company. I bought my aligners back in 2018 and never heard that they'd stop providing retainers. When I contacted them about it, they basically said too bad unless I saw one of their dentists or "look for other options." But the closest location is more than 3 hours away! When I asked about transferring my info to SmileDirectClub or Invisalign, they didn't even respond. Treating customers like this after we spent over $2100 on their product is just not right. I'm so disappointed and annoyed with their lack of accountability and responsiveness.
Aligner purchase disappointment
Even though they said they would, Candid didn't come through with giving me a third set of aligners to finish up my treatment. They blamed it on not having enough follow-up from an orthodontist, which they never mentioned when I signed up. In the end, I didn't get the results I wanted from buying their product.
Uncomfortable and bothersome fitting
The braces never felt comfortable and they started bothering my gums right away. I asked several times for a replacement, but they wouldn't budge, so I ended up cutting them on my own to avoid more pain. The retainers were a bad fit and wouldn't stay put, no matter how much I tried. When I reached out for assistance, customer service was no help at all and actually recommended buying more instead of fixing the problem first.
Aligners, mouth irritation, lisp
As a customer using these aligners, I've been having a lot of trouble with how they're irritating my mouth and tongue. It's frustrating because every two weeks I have to spend time fixing them so they don't hurt me more. Plus, they make me sound like I have a lisp when I talk. When I contacted customer service for help, they were not very helpful at all. They even hung up on me during a phone call and kept passing me around in emails before finally telling me they couldn't do anything. On top of that, they didn't even provide any cleaner for the aligners, so I have to spend $25 every month just to keep them clean. Overall, I'm really disappointed with the company and their product.
Treatment progress
My treatment has been going pretty well so far. Getting the scans done was easy, and wearing the aligners is no big deal now. But, I did have a little trouble with the rough edge of the aligner giving me sores on my tongue. I had to fix it myself with a nail file. Other than that, I'm excited to see how well these aligners work compared to braces or other options.
Aligner adjustment process
I'm still in the early stages of getting my aligners adjusted, but everything seems to be going well so far. I've been wearing them for a little over 2 months now and usually feel a bit uncomfortable for a day after switching to a new set. Thankfully, some ibuprofen helps me deal with the discomfort. I know it's all part of the process and it means that my teeth are moving like they should. I can already notice some changes in how my teeth are spaced out, which is what I wanted to see.
Clear aligner purchase
Even though I had a good experience with the clear aligners at first, I ran into a problem after my treatment was finished. I realized that my bite on the right side wasn't fully touching like it should, unlike the left side. This difference in my bite worried me because the orthodontist didn't catch it during the treatment. It was actually my regular dentist who noticed and told me about it, which made me feel frustrated and let down.
Long wait time in retainer
It's really frustrating dealing with customer service, it feels like I'm working so hard just to get some assistance. My retainer has been stuck doing nothing for like 2 weeks longer than it should be. I can't even discuss my scans directly, which is really irritating. And sometimes the comments they send are kind of rude about how I brush my teeth! Do they actually look at my scans or just send out generic responses? And if you attempt to move on to the next retainer sooner, they will send you a stern email scolding you! It's just not fair, dude.
Clear aligners
I just got these clear aligners from this company and I gotta tell you, I'm really bummed out by how they turned out. They kept changing things up, but now my teeth look even worse than they did before. The bottom ones overlap more and there's a gap at the top. It's frustrating that they can't fix it up anymore. I suggest going to a good orthodontist instead of wasting your money here.
Invisalign aligners
I'm actually on step six of my Invisalign treatment and I gotta say, I'm really happy with how it's going. I was expecting a bit of discomfort, but it's been pretty minimal so far. Overall, I've been super impressed with the aligners and I'm glad I went this route. The Candid app has been a game-changer for me, too. It sends me reminders when it's time to move on to the next step, which is awesome because I'm pretty forgetful.
Ineffective Treatment
I can't believe I've been wasting my time and money on these aligners. I've been wearing them all the time like they said and doing everything just right, but my teeth look exactly the same. The doctors keep telling me I'm making progress but I think they're just messing with me because there's no way my teeth are getting any better. I still have a few months left so maybe something will finally happen, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Incomplete treatment
I've been using this service for a while now and I was pretty happy with it until recently. It seems like the company made some changes that have really affected my experience. Now, I can't get the full treatment I need because they won't do refinements after a certain number of rounds. I'm feeling frustrated and not too happy with the service anymore. It's disappointing to see a company I used to trust switch things up in a way that hurts their customers.

$100 aligners, zero follow thr
I totally get where you're coming from. I had a similar disappointing time with those $100 aligners. It took a crazy 2 months to make them, and in the end, my teeth didn... Read onBy: Hessel
