    The disappearing line trick

    two more lines gone. At that point I laughed in a bitter way. Reached out again, got shuffled, got the usual “we’ll fix it” talk, and after a long afternoon of calls and patience (and a coffee that went cold and came back nice, somehow) they finally restored everything and even adjusted a weird pro-rated charge. The standout thing here is the eSIM debacle — having to delete it, wait, and trust strangers on the phone was annoying and stupid-feeling. Still, after the headache I ended up with working lines and a fairer bill, which surprised me. So yeah, I started skeptical and frustrated, and I’ll admit I left somewhat satisfied, grudgingly.

    Still using Simple Mobile — for now

    I'm keeping Simple Mobile in my pocket for the moment. I've been on their service since last summer and honestly, the recent plan changes made me tilt back toward them. Quick why: they bumped the data on the cheap plans so you actually get usable data and you can still reactivate older phones and refill cards — that surprised me. I started using it right after switching from a big carrier because I wanted something cheaper for a spare line. First impression the day I activated was: huh, this actually feels like a legit upgrade. The $25 plan now gives 15GB (used to be 5), $30 is 20GB (used to be 10) and $40 is 30GB (used to be 15) — that jump matters if you stream or use hotspot. I discovered the hotspot works like it should, and roaming in about 17 countries is still on the table, which I didn’t expect from a value brand. One weird but nice thing: older TracFone/Simple Mobile phones I had from stores like Kroger/Walmart could be reactivated just by checking IMEI and using the T‑Mobile/TracFone SIM they send. I actually reused an older unlocked TracFone for a couple months — saved me a bunch. Heads up though: some of the newer phones TracFone sells are on Verizon towers (their $60 tier especially leans that way), so you might end up on Verizon depending on the device you buy. Price-wise, the $60 plan still feels a bit steep compared to the others, but the mid-range options are a lot better than before. Another small plus: unused refill cards they sold earlier still get honored, so if you find an old card in a drawer, it probably still works — weirdly reassuring. Not everything is perfect — support can be slow sometimes and the packaging claims can be confusing — but overall it's a noticeable improvement. If you want simple, affordable data and the freedom to reuse older phones, it’s worth a shot. I’m pleasantly surprised by the roaming and the higher data caps; that’s what sold me back.

    Not recommended after four years

    I wouldn’t recommend this company. I’ve been a customer for four years and today they put my family through something we didn’t expect. I asked for a short extension until Friday, June 6 so I could get a service installed and actually receive calls from a detective handling a sensitive matter. The rep wouldn’t connect me to a supervisor — said they couldn’t, which was new to me. I explained the situation, asked for help, and was basically told there was nothing they could do. It felt abrupt and inflexible after loyalty. Small surprise: one agent was polite and seemed to care, but policy won out. Other companies I’ve used were more flexible.

    Recent phone plan purchase

    I recently bought a phone plan and man, it was such a headache. The app was a mess, couldn't figure out how to make a payment anywhere. Like, there were buttons for everything except the one I needed! When I called customer service, it sounded like they were in a barn or something, roosters crowing in the background and all. The person I talked to couldn't even figure out how to take my payment but kept asking for my card details. No way, dude. The whole situation was a disaster, Simple Mobile really dropped the ball on this one.

    Family plan with three lines

    The customer service used to be okay at first, but things went downhill over the past two years. I found myself reaching out to the customer service team at least twice a month for a year and a half. One time, it was to get our family plan line reconnected, which kept getting disconnected every month. The other time was to fix billing problems where they were charging us too much. It was like a never-ending cycle, and on the last go-around, they didn't even refund my money, so I had to get my bank involved. I was just so done with the terrible service, so I switched over to Helium Mobile, a competitor that not only gives me amazing service but also pays me $80 per month for each line.

    Long-time customer

    I've been a customer for a long time, but ever since the company got bought out by another big corporation, the service has gone way downhill. The customer support is just terrible, and it's so hard to actually talk to a real person for help. I would strongly recommend not using this service for your phone needs, because chances are you'll end up regretting it. The bad reviews online are a pretty clear sign that this company doesn't really care about its customers.

    I just bought a phone plan from this company, and honestly, I was so let down by the customer service. They overcharged me by $50 and then when I reached out to fix it, they wouldn't assist me because I couldn't verify an account that I never even had. It was super annoying and so unprofessional.     Phone activation frustration

    The activation process for my new phone was such a nightmare. I mean, I spent over three hours trying to get it all set up, just to run into a bunch of issues. Like, the device wouldn't connect to the internet, and when I tried to activate it, I got this error message saying my phone number was gonna be pending for days in the future.     Billing issue with ACP Life Line program

    Simple Mobile's customer service and billing system is a total mess. I signed up for the Free ACP Affordability Life Line program, but I keep getting charged for it. It's supposed to be free, but they keep billing me. Dealing with this problem over and over again is really annoying.

    I just changed up my plan with this company, and honestly it was a total letdown. The customer service rep I talked to, this guy Romene with badge number 510440, was really not up to par. When I asked to chat with a supervisor about getting a refund for a plan I never used (and got switched to by mistake), they straight up said no. So now I'm stuck paying for two plans, when I never even had the chance to use one of them.

    My experience with the customer service at this company was incredibly disappointing. The staff just didn't seem to know how to help me with the technical issues I was having with my smartphone and service plan. It was really frustrating trying to explain the problems I was having, only to be met with confusion and no real solutions. On top of that, some of the customer service reps didn't speak my language well which made it even harder to get my concerns across. All in all, I wouldn't suggest this company to anyone who wants good customer service.

    Deactivation issue

    I had a real bad time when my phone got shut off and I didn't even know about it. The customer service folks weren't much help in getting it fixed. I've been with them for 6 years, but nobody wanted to help me out and get my phone back on because of some code problem I didn't even know existed. It was really annoying and disappointing to be left high and dry without a working phone after all those years of being a loyal customer. I'd suggest checking out other options for service and support.

    I just got this new phone plan and man, it has been a total letdown. The service is always crummy, which means I can't even load photos or watch videos on this thing. I tried reaching out to customer service for help, but they were totally useless. No matter what I tried, nothing got fixed. And get this, when I asked for a refund, they straight up said no and charged even more to my card. What a pain! I would not suggest this to anyone after my frustrating experience.

    Constantly losing reception

    I can't deal with this anymore. I've been a loyal customer with this company for so long and the service just keeps going downhill. It used to be smooth sailing - I could easily make calls and send texts, no problem. But now? I can't even get a signal in my own house! How does that even make sense? It's like the more money I dish out, the worse my service becomes. I'm sick of always losing signal and missing those crucial calls and messages.
