Car broke down
My car broke down, so I called a mechanic from GEM. He showed up really fast and looked at my car. It turned out my gearbox was messed up - what a bummer! But the mechanic was really cool and relaxed, which made the whole thing a lot less stressful. He towed my car home quickly. Honestly, I've had breakdowns in the past, but this was the best assistance I've ever gotten!
Membership with included breakdown assistance
I recently signed up for a membership that came with breakdown assistance from this company. I was really impressed by how user-friendly their website was and how simple it was to buy the membership. They didn't try to sneak in any extra fees or costs, which was great. The whole process was super easy and went smoothly. And to top it off, I got a membership card with all the important info in case my car breaks down, which was a nice little extra touch.

I want to share about a recent disappointing experience I had with the breakdown assistance service I got from GEM. They said they had lots of local recovery firms ready to help, but that wasn't the reality. When my car broke down, it took them more than an hour to even contact a recovery service, which was really frustrating because I needed help quickly. They didn't call back or give any updates, and when I asked for information, the person I talked to didn't seem to know much and wasn't very helpful. The recovery firm they eventually sent had to come from far away, making me wait even longer and causing more inconvenience. Because of this, I'm not happy with the service and I'm not sure if I want to renew my subscription with GEM in the future.
Joint policy with my son
My son hit a pothole and had a flat tire, so he used that app to call for help. He got a text with the info of the recovery company and they showed up in about an hour. They got him home safe in an hour and a half. DJ Recovery did a great job, they were really quick and efficient. I was impressed with how smoothly everything went.
