Insurance coverage
The customer service at Liberty Mutual really let me down. I never got into an accident or got a ticket, but they charged me almost 400 bucks to insure two cars. I wasn't happy about it, so I decided to look elsewhere. I ended up checking out Progressive, and there I found the same coverage plus some extra stuff for only $269. I reached out to Liberty Mutual to see if they could match that, but they were no help at all. So, I had no other option but to switch companies.
Home and auto insurance
We just got a bill from Liberty for our home and auto insurance that's due in March. We paid almost $4000 in full, but now they're saying there was some mistake and we owe them an extra $195. It's like they're penalizing us for filing a claim for damage to our roof from snow and ice. This might be the last straw with this insurance company.
Estate insurance transfer
I recently had to switch my late mom's home and auto insurance over to an estate policy. Liberty sent a cancellation notice to the wrong address, so it was already in effect before I even got it. I had to spend a whole hour on the phone with a bunch of different people, only to be told they couldn't renew the policy. Luckily, my personal insurance agent at Farmers was able to get me set up with a new policy fast.
Auto, home, and business insurance
I've been a customer for a long time, with personal auto, home, and business insurance policies. At first, my business premiums were good, but then they doubled after a re-classification. So, I checked out other quotes and State Farm had way better coverage at a much lower cost. It's saved me a lot of money. Even though I've been with them for over ten years, it seems like they care more about shareholders than us policyholders.
Overpriced insurance coverage
I've been with LM for more than 20 years, but I just found out that their rates are way higher than other insurance companies. And on top of that, those other places offer better coverage. It's frustrating because my rates keep going up, even though I've been a loyal customer. It seems like they don't care about loyalty at all. I recommend checking out different insurance options for better prices and coverage.
Policy comparison
I've been a customer for over ten years, always paying my premiums on time and never having to file a claim. So when I called to ask about any discounts now that I've retired, they just flat out said no. That's when I decided to check out other options and ended up finding a way better deal. But when I tried to cancel my policy with them, they hit me with all these surprise fees and wanted me to pay for another month of coverage even though I already switched providers. The customer service was terrible, making me feel like I was just a number to them. It's obvious that they don't care about loyalty, only caring about their profits.
Home insurance policy
After I sold my house in Maryland, I kindly sent over all the necessary home closing paperwork to end my home insurance policy. Yet, here we are almost a year later and the insurance folks still haven't canceled it. They keep sending me those pesky renewal emails and won't even give me a refund for the time that passed without coverage. They keep coming up with excuses, saying the closing documents aren't quite right and dragging out the cancellation process. Dealing with their shady tactics is beyond frustrating. I'm just grateful I haven't had to file a claim with them, because I shudder to think about the hoops they might make me jump through to actually get what I'm owed.
Cancelled insurance policy with a different insurance company
I just decided to cancel my insurance with that one company and switch to a different provider. I had paid for 6 months upfront with them, but they never told me about that cancellation fee. I was pretty bummed about the whole situation and it made me lose trust in them.
Mixed feelings about Liberty Mutual
I have been with Liberty Mutual for about two years now, and overall, my experience has been pretty good. The process of signing up for a policy was pretty straightforward and the customer service has been generally helpful when I've had questions or needed to make changes to my policy.
One thing that I do wish was different is that they don't have physical stores. I like being able to go into a store and talk to someone in person, so not having that option can be a bit inconvenient.
The prices for my policy have also been competitive, which is always a plus. I haven't had to file a claim with them yet, so I can't speak to their claims process, but I have heard mixed reviews from friends and family.
Overall, I'm satisfied with Liberty Mutual as my insurance provider. They've met my needs and I haven't had any major issues with them.
