Pop-up scam
This company doesn't even deserve one star, they are so bad. So, I'm just minding my own business on my computer when a pop-up starts saying it's infected - even though my virus protection says everything's fine. Well, after checking out some reviews, it's obvious this company is up to no good and needs to be taken to court for their shady dealings.
Free trial with computer
The free trial that came with my new computer was such a pain to get rid of. Whenever I rebooted my computer, it would switch the search engine to Yahoo, and I had to keep changing it back to Chrome. And those never-ending pop-up ads warning me about being unprotected and pushing me to subscribe again were really getting on my nerves.
Antivirus software purchase
Oh man, this antivirus software is a total disaster! I mean, come on, you'd think a company that's been around forever would have it together, but nope, McAfee is just a joke. I read all these horror stories on their forum and thought, "nah, it can't be that bad". Well, surprise surprise, it is! I thought as a Mac user I was safe from all the PC chaos, but nope, McAfee found a way to mess things up on my laptop too. The auto updates never work, installations take forever, and those pop-ups are so annoying. I finally reached my breaking point and just had to ditch this useless app. No refund, but it's definitely worth it to not deal with this mess anymore.
McAfee Software not functioning
I bought this software from an IT security company and man, what a waste of money. The darn Firewall won't even turn on my laptop! And when I called customer service for help, the tech guy couldn't figure it out. And get this - they charged me for a renewal without even asking me thanks to some sneaky auto-renewal contract. Been trying to get in touch with customer service, but the call keeps dropping after I've been on hold for like 20 minutes. I highly recommend steering clear of this company for your IT security needs, look for a better service elsewhere.
Purchased ID theft protection
I messed up by adding ID theft protection to my account, and it was a total disaster. It wasn't what I wanted, so I wanted to cancel it. But instead of just taking off the ID protection, McAfee canceled my whole account, even though I still had a year left on my monitoring subscription. When I called customer service, I kept getting put on hold and was told I'd be back up and running in 2 days, which didn't happen. Their software was also acting up, making things even more frustrating. I highly recommend anybody thinking about dealing with this company to think again and avoid the headache.
App that won't go away
Man, this app has been bugging me for months and I can't even get rid of it. I was really counting on them to fix it, but nope. That's probably why their rating is so low, so watch out.
New computer program
They installed their program on my brand new computer without even asking and then charged me a ridiculous amount. And to make it worse, they completely messed up my refund and wouldn't stop calling me. It was seriously the worst experience ever!
Subscription Refund Issue
I had this frustrating situation with a security software company. I reached out to cancel my subscription and get a refund since I was still eligible. But they told me I couldn't get a refund because they renewed my subscription without telling me a month ahead. That's just shady and wrong. I won't be dealing with them again and I'd urge others to watch out for their sneaky business practices.
Refund request for cancelled subscription
I tried to get a refund for a subscription I canceled, but it was a real pain. I tried on the website but had no luck, and then they sent me to this shady phone number that seemed like a scam. It's not cool how they're treating customers, keeping my money feels like they're ripping me off. So I've decided I'm done buying from them and I cancelled my auto-renewal subscription.
Recent software purchase
I bought some software from this company recently, and man, I am so not happy with it. I kept getting all these warnings about possible threats, but when I checked, my system was all good. And those alerts? They seriously slowed down my computer, and it's been a pain in the butt. It's just kinda sad that a company would do stuff like that to try and sell more of their products.
Annoying software
I was just trying to download Adobe Reader, you know? But then this super annoying McAfee thing popped up with it and now I can't seem to get rid of it! Like, seriously, why do I have to deal with this stupid program that just won't go away? And when I tried to get some help, they were absolutely useless. Ugh, it was seriously the worst customer service experience ever!
Antiviral software purchase
I just bought this antivirus software and it turned out to be a total dud, messing up my computer instead of keeping it safe. At first, everything seemed okay after I installed it and ran a scan. But then my computer started acting sluggish and I couldn't even get online with my router. Turns out, the software was blocking my access to the router. When I asked for help, all they said was to update the app, but I couldn't do that because it was blocking my internet. In the end, I had to just delete the app altogether, which basically made buying it pointless. I'm really bummed about it and wish I had just stuck with Norton like I usually do.
$1000 computer
I bought a brand new $1000 computer for my business and everything was going great until I decided to install the antivirus software. Ever since then, the computer has been giving me constant headaches, needing to be restarted all the time and losing connection to the internet. It's been incredibly frustrating and I think this company should face some consequences for this mess.
Antivirus software
I had a terrible time with this antivirus software. It just wouldn't update, leaving me vulnerable for over six months. When I called customer service for help, they just told me to wait for the next update, which was useless since the program couldn't update in the first place. It's been a year now, and the software is still messed up. I've gotten used to ignoring the notifications about it being broken, but it's annoying. I've had to mess with my firewall and other settings just to try to get it to work, but it's been a waste of time. I feel like I got ripped off and regret ever buying it. I should have gone with a different brand like Norton from the beginning.
Anti-virus software purchase
The antivirus software I bought ended up putting a sneaky program on my computer. It kept sending me alerts about infections I didn't intentionally get. That messed up my system, so I had to reinstall everything from a backup.
Software installation frustration
I just got a new laptop and it came with some software that I can't seem to get rid of. I'm having the hardest time trying to uninstall this program called 'Webadvisor' because it keeps telling me that it's being used by another program. I've spent a ton of time trying to figure this out and it's really starting to drive me crazy. Dealing with this software has been a major headache, it's even worse than dealing with actual viruses!
Renewal of subscription
Why wouldn't they show the price before renewing? It's like buying a mystery box without knowing what's inside! That's really annoying!
Annoying pop-ups and ads
I keep getting bombarded with pop-ups from the app on my PC even though I pay for a subscription. These pop-ups are trying to get me to switch to more expensive plans. When I contacted customer service about it, they told me there's no way to stop these annoying ads. It's frustrating that they don't seem to care about what their customers want.
The software sucks
I bought this software online and it was not at all what I needed. Our laptops couldn't even handle it. When I tried to get a refund, they told me I would get less money back because it was on sale. What's the deal with that? Now they're asking me to pay for something I never even used for four years. And don't even get me started on the customer service. It's the worst. Ugh.
Troublesome uninstallation process
I've been having a nightmare trying to uninstall this software from my computer. Every time I try to reach out to customer service, I either get put on hold forever or they just hang up on me. I keep getting bombarded with pop-ups saying my service is over, and I can't figure out how to get rid of this annoying software. It's so frustrating, it feels like they're crossing the line into something illegal.
