LED lamp
A complete nightmare. The bottom line is that there is no customer service, only a defective ChatBot. My item was damaged during shipping and UPS sent it back. I tried to get a replacement but couldn't contact any representative through their website, only the defective ChatBot. Fortunately, I used AMEX to challenge the charge since Food52 doesn't have customer service. I would avoid these folks at all cost.
Profile creation and checkout process
I just tried using a gift certificate on this website and it was a total nightmare. I had to make a profile first, which was already annoying. Then the whole checkout process was super complicated and confusing, I couldn't believe it. It was a frustrating experience that really made me upset and let down.
Kitchenware set
I recently bought something online and man oh man, was I let down by the customer service, or lack thereof. They didn't even have a phone number for me to reach out to anyone! How is that okay for a company that does most of their business online? I tried emailing them to start a return, but got crickets in response. After bugging them multiple times, I finally got a return slip, but guess what? I had to foot the bill for shipping it back. This whole lack of communication and support thing is just plain embarrassing, especially for a company in a big city like New York City.
Kitchen appliance purchase
This company is a hot mess. Their customer service is a complete joke. I get that outsourcing to the Philippines saves money, but what's the point if they can't even tell me when my order will arrive? It just leaves us customers frustrated and gives them a bad rep. I bought a kitchen appliance and was given a delivery date, but that date came and went with no sign of it. So, I reached out to them, and all I got was useless info that I already knew. When I tried again, I got nothing - total radio silence. And now, to top it all off, they're saying my item is out of stock. Makes me think it was never in stock in the first place. This behavior is just not okay.
Bowl purchase
I tried ordering a set of bowls from this website three times, but every time they arrived, they were all smashed up. The packaging was a hot mess, like it had been through a tornado or something. I reached out to customer service to see about getting some replacements, but no matter what I did, I kept getting broken bowls. Dealing with this over and over again really got on my nerves, and it was so frustrating to just keep receiving smashed items with no care in the packaging. The company's communication was seriously lacking, and they didn't seem at all interested in fixing the problem. Overall, it was a total letdown and I ended up with a stack of useless broken bowls and a bad taste in my mouth.
Returned items for refund
I recently sent back some stuff worth $600 to Food52, and I gotta say, their customer service has been pretty disappointing. It's been well over a month now since I returned the items, and I still haven't seen a dime of my refund. The lack of updates and transparency from them is just not cool. They don't even have a phone number to call, just an email address to reach out to. But even when I shoot them an email, the responses I get are kind of vague and not really helpful. They just keep saying they're "working on it." This whole situation really shows a lack of respect for customers like me who are out here spending their hard-earned money. I'm definitely not going to give them my business again.
Ceramic baking dishes purchase
I bought three ceramic baking dishes from the website not too long ago. When my order came in, I saw that one of the dishes had some big problems - it looked bad and didn't work right. It's worrisome that there wasn't good quality control, especially since the manufacturer is well-known. I tried to reach out to customer service by email because there wasn't a phone number to call. It's been ten days now, and even after sending a bunch of emails, I haven't heard back from them. This lack of communication isn't cool and makes me question their dedication to good customer service.
Paypal subscription mishap
So I ordered some stuff from this website using my mom's paypal, right? And then I was waiting forever for them to ship it out, and I was getting so impatient. Finally, I checked the paypal account and found out that they set it up as a recurring payment instead of just a one-time thing! I mean, seriously, how shady is that? I was so mad. I did end up getting my order eventually, but now I'm never ordering from there again, man. You really have to be careful with these guys! Make sure you check your paypal settings and don't fall for their tricks!
Shipping address issue
Man, let me tell you about this aggravating situation I had trying to change my shipping address for an order I placed. I messed up the address and tried calling customer service for days to fix it. Finally got through to an agent via chat, only to be told the items hadn't shipped yet but the address couldn't be changed because it was already "in the system." That was super frustrating to hear. The agent just gave me a cookie-cutter response about how hard it is to change addresses, no real help at all. That's just lousy service, no care for the customer at all.
Overpriced kitchen gadget
I bought this kitchen gadget from this company and boy, was that a mistake! It was way overpriced and when I tried to return it, their customer service was just awful. It was a total nightmare trying to get my money back, so I just gave up and kept the useless gadget. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this company.
Victoria tortilla press and Victoria grill press
I recently bought the Victoria tortilla press and grill press from Food52, but I was really let down by the whole thing. The packaging was pretty bad and didn't protect the tortilla press at all, so it got damaged during shipping. On top of that, the size of the press was way off - it was only 9 and 1/4 inches, not the 12”•10” like they said. Plus, the inside had some damage, rust, and scratches. I'll have to try to fix it myself, but I definitely won't be buying from them again. Overall, a super disappointing experience.
Kitchen gadgets
I ordered some stuff for my kitchen, but it never showed up! It's been so long, and I still don't have any of my things. I tried reaching out to them, but they were totally useless. They basically said it was my issue. Can you believe that?
Dish rack and storage rack
Let me tell you, don't waste your time or your energy dealing with this company. I made the mistake of ordering without logging into my account, and they wouldn't give me a refund. And let me tell you, the pictures they show of their products are so misleading; the Yamazaki dish rack and storage rack I bought looked strong but they were actually super cheap and didn't work like they said. And then, to make it even worse, one of the items came with defects in two places! When I tried to return it, they wanted to hit me with a big return fee and take away the discount I used. This company is awful and takes advantage of people who don't know any better. Trust me, save yourself the trouble and shop somewhere else.
Chipped bowl replacement
I got my order and was really looking forward to using my new bowls, but when I opened them, one of them was chipped. I reached out to customer service right away, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I wish I had checked the reviews before buying because it looks like other people have had the same problem. Now I'm just crossing my fingers for a reply and a fix. It's frustrating to spend money on something that comes damaged and not hear anything about fixing it.
Developer job application process
I applied for a developer job at this place. I finished a coding challenge, got some good feedback, and was asked to come in for more interviews. But then when I tried to find out about the interview details, I got completely ignored. The HR person, Ammie, never replied to any of my emails or calls. That's really unprofessional and disrespectful.
Le Creuset purchase
I bought this fancy cookware thing at the end of October, planning to give it as a Christmas present. But when we opened the box, it was messed up. I asked for a new one instead of getting a refund, but the company said no. I was so bummed about the whole situation and the bad customer service.
Gift item
I ordered a gift from this website recently and had a bad experience. The shipping was late and I didn't find out until I checked on my own. When I wanted to cancel the order because of the delay, they said no. They told me to return it when it finally got here, but it's a gift so that wouldn't work. Trying to talk to their customer service was tough because they were hard to reach. I suggest looking somewhere else for a better shopping experience.
Pressure cooker purchase
Don't bother buying this pressure cooker! It only lasted about 10 months before the lid gave up on me. I contacted the company and they basically said too bad after 30 days. Seriously, who does that? Save yourself the trouble and steer clear of this product.
Order cancellation policy
The cancellation policy on the website isn't very clear and easy to use. You can't just hit a cancel button like on most sites; you gotta email customer service to cancel your order. This doesn't match with what the website says about being able to cancel as long as the order isn't being worked on. When I tried to cancel my order that was still 'pending', they said no dice and I'd have to do a whole return process for a refund. After looking at other people's reviews, it seems like a lot of folks have run into this issue with Food52. All in all, I don't trust them and their tricky cancellation and refund policies. I'll definitely take my business elsewhere next time.
2 outdoor dining chairs
I picked up these two outdoor chairs and man, they are awesome. They got here super quick - like in a week. They're solid but not too bulky and I really enjoy chilling in them outside. Definitely the best chairs ever!

Five two apron
I wanted to love this item. The washing and drying of it was terrible. It was soooooo wrinkled. I tried to steam it as I don’t usually iron anything. The wrinkles did not come o... Read onBy: Veronica Davis
