Mixed Feelings about American Residential Warranty
I have had experience with American Residential Warranty and I have mixed feelings about the company. On one hand, they offer a variety of coverage options and the process of signing up for a plan was fairly straightforward. However, I have had issues when it comes to filing claims.
The first time I filed a claim, it took a long time for a technician to come out to my house. When they finally did arrive, they were not able to fix the issue and I had to wait even longer for a second technician to come out. This was frustrating because I had already taken time off of work for the initial appointment.
The second time I filed a claim, the process was a bit smoother. The technician arrived within a reasonable timeframe and was able to fix the issue on the spot. However, I did feel like the cost of the repair was a bit high considering I am paying for a warranty.
Overall, I would say that American Residential Warranty has its ups and downs. While the coverage options are good, the claims process can be slow and sometimes costly.Home warranty purchase
I recently bought a home warranty and had an issue with the bill that I needed help with. I got in touch with customer service and talked to a lady named Diana. Diana was super nice and friendly and knew her stuff. She was great at answering all my questions and made sure we were both on the same page with my account. She fixed the billing issue right away, which I appreciate. However, I wasn't thrilled about waiting on hold for over 46 minutes before Diana picked up. I've been a customer for a while, so I don't think that long wait time is right. Also, I had already tried to sort out the billing problem through the portal but was told it didn't go through. I asked for a refund on the $5 late fees because I had given them my new account number back in November. I'm wondering why they didn't update my account number last month like I asked them to.

Her name was Karen, and she was really nice about my situation because all my accounts got hacked not too long ago and I had to cancel all my cards. She told me about a grace period for payment and suggested I call back with my new card info once I got my replacements. I was really grateful for the quick and understanding help I got.

I just talked to this guy Andre it was customer service. Man, he was awesome! He helped me out big time with a question I had about my account. This company is such a scam. They told me I'd get a full refund if I canceled during the trial period, but when I tried to cancel, they totally changed their tune. The guy, Chris, flat out lied about the refund policy. It's insane that they can trick people like that. Stay away from this company, seriously.

I had to call customer service twice and wait on hold forever just to talk about a discount. I'm a disabled veteran and senior, so I thought maybe I could get a break. But nope, just ended up paying the full invoice without any help. Joel said to write a review for a discount next year, so here I am. Thanks, Joel.
Broken air conditioner
My air conditioner stopped working when we turned it on for service this year. We've had American Residential Warranty (ARW) since November when we were referred by a family member to another company and accidentally signed up for ARW. Now it's the end of May. We reported the issue back in March and took three days off for their technicians to come, but they never showed up, all three times. I asked for a new technician and was told I had to pay another $100 service fee even though they admitted they missed the appointments. I try calling every day, sit on hold for up to an hour, and request to speak to a supervisor, but they always claim none are available and promise to call me back, which they never do. This is turning into a very costly scam. Check the Better Business Bureau reviews, I wish I had before. You wait on hold for an hour while being told the wait time is only 10 minutes. At $80 a month, I would have saved money by paying out of pocket for repairs, taking time off work, the monthly fees, and the service fees. Don't get stuck in the same situation. My brother is a lawyer, so we will get this sorted out, but many people are probably left in a tough spot. Be cautious!

I had a plumbing problem at home and tried to reach out to this company for help on a Sunday. Unfortunately, they don't work on Sundays, so I had to wait more than 24 hours to get my claim processed. When they finally got in touch with me, I was frustrated because the customer service reps were rude and unhelpful, and they didn't really solve my issues.
