Fake free trial
The website tricks you into giving your card details for a free trial, but then says there are technical issues stopping you from using the service. Yet, your card is already saved, and the service is marked as "inactive" on your account. It's just not right, it's sneaky and wrong.
Helpful but frustrating
I had this messed up Word document on my Mac that I really needed to save, but man, it was like trying to dig a hole with a chocolate spade - totally useless and frustrating. The app I thought would fix it just didn't cut it, and honestly, it ended up making me even more irritated than I was when I first began.
Renewal purchase
I tried it out before, and it was decent for the price, especially if you're using it a lot. But when I decided to stop using it, and then wanted to renew it during Black Friday, I got tricked! I logged in, clicked on renew, and BAM - charged! No heads up or anything! They had all my info saved, so it was simple for them to just charge me like that. Not cool at all.
Subscription fee increase for mobile apps
I've been using the subscription service for 2 years now, mainly with Ulysses on my Mac, iOS, and iPad. But I'm kind of bummed about the recent decision to raise the price by 50% for the limited iOS apps. It just doesn't seem fair since there's no extra value or new apps being added. The support team even admitted the iOS selection is lacking, so it makes you wonder why we should be charged more for the same old apps.
Subscription to a collection of apps
Setapp has a bunch of great apps, some that are totally worth the subscription price. But lately, they haven't been adding new ones as fast and some apps aren't that great. It's a bummer that they haven't listened to feedback about Setapp and CleanMyMac X. I get annoyed when I have to constantly reposition those apps every time I open them.
Bug support lacking
I had a terrible time trying to get help for a bug in one of the apps on this platform. I tried reaching out to Setapp and the App Developer (uBar) several times, but they didn't respond at all. It was frustrating and made me wonder if it's worth renewing my subscription next year.
Monthly subscription for a variety of apps
I really love this app! Instead of shelling out cash for a bunch of separate apps or dealing with annoying constant updates, Setapp gives you access to a whole bunch of different apps for just one monthly fee. I've been using it for a few years now and I gotta say, I'm totally thrilled with it. The updates are free and they're always throwing in new apps. It's seriously the bomb!
Best app ever
This app is seriously awesome! It has a bunch of helpful apps all in one place. The customer support is amazing, they really care about you and go above and beyond to help. I don't pay attention to any bad reviews, this app is totally worth it.
Subscription with additional charges for mobile app usage
My experience with Setapp was great, but things started going downhill when they decided to start charging for the mobile app in addition to the Mac app. This change didn't sit well with loyal customers like me who have been using their services for a while now. The increase in cost and the lack of options in the pricing structure compared to other companies was a letdown. As a result, I've decided to cancel my subscription and search for more affordable options for the applications I use. It would be nice to see the CEO take charge and address this issue instead of leaving it to the Product Manager.
Apps are awesome
Man, these apps are awesome. I had no idea they were even a thing before! The coolest part is there are so many options to pick from, and they're totally worth the cost. I really dig how simple it is to keep track of my subscription based on which apps I use most. The only bummer is that it's only for Mac and iOS, so I can't use it on my Android phone.
Team license purchase
I was kinda unsure at first about this whole idea of getting a bunch of cool apps in one package for a set price, but when I bought the team license from SetApp, I was pleasantly surprised. The apps they have are top-notch quality and there's a good variety to choose from. I feel like I'm definitely getting my money's worth with this deal.
Recently, I had a little hiccup with two apps that had to do with GitHub, so I reached out to SetApp's support team. They totally blew me away by fixing the issue super quickly, within just 24 hours. The level of customer service I got was really awesome and it's made me a loyal SetApp supporter.App selection and usage frequency
The selection and quality of apps on this platform are really great. But to be honest, I don't use them much because of my work computer setup. Back when I was working as a freelance designer, I got a lot more use out of them. Right now, the apps I'm using most are Bartender, OneSwitch, Tripmode, TouchRetouch, Gemini, and Hype. I already have licenses for some of them and older versions of the others. I've only tried CleanMyMac once, and I've found some other paid or free options for the rest. Overall, I'm spending a bunch of money on apps that I hardly ever use.
Subscription service disappointment
I was really excited about all the cool apps they had on this subscription service at first, but the recent updates made me pretty upset. They suddenly limited the number of devices you could use the software on which was a bummer. And now, they're trying to make us pay extra for using it on mobile devices that used to be free. It feels like they're just trying to make more money off of us loyal customers, and I'm not happy about it. It's just sad to see a once great service get ruined by their greed.
Free trial sign up
I thought I could use this cool app when I signed up for a free trial, but it ended up not working for what I needed. I had some trouble canceling because of login issues, but customer service was super helpful and I was able to cancel without any problems. Thanks so much!
Subscriptions vs. Lifetime Licenses
I really like all the different apps you can find on this service, and they are top-notch. But, I have some worries about having to pay for a subscription instead of just buying a lifetime license. I mean, I love using the apps I have now, but thinking about the cost in the long run with a subscription kinda makes me hesitate.
Software experience
I had a problem with a shortcut in the software I bought not working like it should. At first, I gave it a two-star rating because of the annoyance. But then, the company totally surprised me by quickly fixing the issue after I told them about it. It's not every day you see a company own up to a mistake and actually take action to make things right. I gotta give them credit for putting their customers first. Major props to them.
Sent emails for support
I reached out to the app team numerous times for help, but they totally ignored me. Seriously, come on! I needed assistance with their product, man! The app itself might be alright, but without support, what's the use? Luckily, SetApp customer support eventually came through for me and provided the help I needed. So I'll probably stick with them if I run into any problems again down the road.
Subscription-based app service
Setapp has a bunch of really good apps for a pretty cheap monthly or yearly fee. They have all sorts of apps to choose from, no matter what you need. Whether you're a writer, designer, or just trying to make your life easier, Setapp has you covered. The interface is super easy to use and find what you're looking for. The best thing is that you can download the apps with just one click, saving you time and stress. Overall, Setapp is a great subscription service for apps that I totally suggest to anyone wanting good apps at a reasonable cost.
One-year subscription purchase
I bought a one-year subscription for this service not long ago. But guess what? Right after the trial period was up, my access got blocked. And let me tell you, talking to customer service was a total waste of time. They told me to try using a different browser, even though the app didn't even work in a browser. I've had enough of this nonsense, so I'm just gonna cut my losses and move on from this frustrating company.
File recovery software
The file recovery program from this service really bailed me out when my external hard drive crashed. I was able to get my files back and saved them to a new device. They suggested I sign up for a subscription to keep accessing the service. Being an older user, I struggled with the confusing interface and didn't like the file format they used, making it hard for me to access my recovered files easily.
