    The website was really easy to use, which was awesome because I had to plan a crazy trip with a bunch of train tickets on a tight schedule. I freaked out at first when I saw "No Available trains," but then I realized it just meant the schedule wasn't up yet, not that there were no trains at all. The alerts for availability were super handy. When I had to change my plans and get a refund, it was a breeze, and I got my money back quickly. The customer service folks were quick to respond to my questions, even during a train strike, which they let me know about right away. They couldn't stop the strike, but they were on it with helping me rebook when everything was back to normal. Overall, it was a great experience and I'll definitely be using them again!

    Booking on the ItaliaRail platform is easy.
    Recently booked three intercity trips for my family of five in May and June this year. Booking on the ItaliaRail platform was easy and smooth, I had no problem at all. During our family trip, we didn't have to produce tickets, just the booking number whenever the attendants came to check for tickets. I found this convenient. Also, finding the right train at the stations was easy because they had big signboards. However, when you make your reservation with ItaliaRail you have to arrive early at the station to give the staff ample time to check your reservation.

    After a frustrating time trying to book seats in person last year, I decided to give booking online a shot through a popular rail service website for Eurail passes. Unfortunately, it didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. Each seat reservation fee came with an extra transaction fee per card, making the total cost much higher than I anticipated. Despite reaching out to customer service for help, all I got was unhelpful replies and then eventually, just crickets. My advice would be to consider booking seats in person at Italian train stations to avoid those pesky extra charges, even though it might be a hassle. Oh, and also keep in mind that timetables on certain routes might not match up with what's on the rail service website.

    Train ride from Florence to Naples

    So I hopped on this train from Florence to Naples, and let me tell you, it was just awful. Supposed to be a quick 3-hour trip, but it turned into a never-ending 6-hour journey. The bathroom? Don't even get me started, it was a complete disaster with trash all over the place. And get this, they actually ran out of water and food! How does that even happen on a train? To top it all off, there were no attendants in sight to help or give us any info. It was a total bummer, man.

    Lost my hat on train

    I left my hat on the train from Rome to Florence and when I noticed it was missing, I asked the guard but she was no help at all. So, I went to the station to report it, and the Customer Services Officer there was just as useless. They said they couldn't do anything because I reported it the next day. It's crazy how little they seem to care about lost stuff! I bet they just pocket everything or sell it off. It's a total rip-off!

    My experience with the train tickets

    I had such a terrible time with those dang train tickets. My twin sister and I hopped on a train in Italy, paid for our tickets and everything, but the conductor came over and told us they weren't any good! We tried to show him our proof of payment but he wouldn't even give us a chance. Ended up missing our stop and having to fork over more cash because of it. Man, it was so irritating and just made me feel down.

    Cancelled train vouchers

    Because of COVID-19 in Italy, my train trips got canceled. I tried to get vouchers with extra perks, but I still haven't seen any of those benefits. It's been really frustrating, starting in May, with lots of emails to the agency that haven't been answered. I'm not sure if this agency is legit or if they'll actually give me the benefits they promised for taking the vouchers. They keep giving me vague answers about having to wait because they're busy. Looking back, I didn't even realize I was dealing with an agency and not the actual rail company. I wonder if anyone else has had similar issues.

    My experience with that website wasn't great at all. The layout was all over the place, super confusing. And there were tons of positive reviews that seemed fishy. I had a hunch they might've been fake. Plus, I wasn't thrilled to discover some sneaky fees tacked onto the ticket price without any good reason. It was annoying not having other choices for buying those Italian train tickets because of the lack of competition and rules.

    Delayed trains in Italy

    Can you believe how bad the Italian train system is? I thought Deutsche bahn was bad until I had to deal with the nightmare that is the Italian trains. My train was delayed 3 hours, and it seems like being on time is not important to them at all. It's so frustrating and you just can't rely on them.

    My recent train ride was a nightmare thanks to a strike. I was stuck on the platform for hours with no backup plan, and the staff didn't give us any info. It felt like I was on my own with no help. Plus, getting my ticket refund could take up to 6 months, which is a pain.     So, let me tell you about my train ticket ordeal - it was a complete mess. I went ahead and booked a ticket, only to get hit with a cancellation minutes later. Can you believe that? I felt like the company was pulling some shady stuff. Then, when I tried to rebook, they were trying to charge me way more than before. That definitely didn't sit right with me. I was left feeling totally duped and wondering if I could even trust them.
