Power PDF Standard 3.x software
I just found out that I can't activate my Power PDF Standard 3.x software since I reinstalled my PC on 8/30/2023. It looks like the activation server for the product is no longer available, and the serial number I have doesn't work anymore. I contacted support, gave them my serial numbers and hardware IDs, explained the issue, and asked for a new activation key. But they told me that the software I have is OEM and I should reach out to the printer manufacturer. The printer manufacturer directed me to Kofax because they can't provide the activation code themselves since it goes through Kofax or Nuance, the original creators of the software. So now, I have to give up on the software because Kofax/Nuance won't let me activate it after a reinstall. I'll have to find a different product from a competitor, and I definitely won't be recommending anything from Kofax to my customers. It's frustrating to see that the software is still being sold on platforms like eBay and Amazon.

I tried to get it fixed or replaced under warranty, but they wouldn't help me out. Their products are terrible and their customer service is even worse. I had a really bad time dealing with that company. Their workers were totally unprofessional, they were always showing up late, and they actually ended up making things worse instead of fixing anything. The original problem should have only cost $300 to fix, but after several unsuccessful tries, I'm now looking at a bill for over $3000 in damages. It's been 3 months and they still haven't managed to sort out the issue.
